Does Acupuncture Hurt?

The sensations felt can vary from person to person and from treatment to treatment.

At the site treated there may be a tingling or dull sensation initially. The needles are inserted for a few seconds or left for 10-20 minutes depending on the required effect. There may be a sensation of lightness, heaviness of limbs or in fact, many people find treatments relaxing and even notice better energy levels and sleep afterwards.

How many sessions will I need?

This will varies depending on the condition being treated, how long you have experienced the symptoms and how you respond. In many cases 6 – 10 treatments may be required – but of course this is assessed as the treatments progress.

Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation : 10 -12 sessions – ideally twice weekly for 5-6 weeks

Can I claim on my health fund?

Yes, so long as your cover includes acupuncture

Can I claim on medicare?

No.
